In this role, you’ll work at a senior level, under the leadership of the Clinical Nurse Manager, to manage a team of nursing and care colleagues, drive quality and maintain high standards of care on your unit.

Otterburn has 30 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite, across three units. The home has communal dining and living spaces, a TV lounge and a large accessible garden.
We are looking for experienced tracheostomy trained nurses or nurses who are willing to be trained and signed off as competent to work on the Tracheostomy Unit. You will lead by example, delivering hands-on nursing care. You will have a person centred ethos and be committed to enriching the lives of the individuals in your care.
As we are committed to providing the best care and support to all our Service Users, the average ratio of staff in this Home is 5 Support Workers to every Nurse.
About the role
As a Unit Manager with Exemplar Health Care, you’ll be at the forefront of clinical care delivery for the people living on your designated unit.
No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
leading your unit’s care and nursing teams to ensure we meet the medical, physical and emotional needs of the people we support
providing strong leadership to maintain and continuously develop high standards of care and drive continuous improvement
overseeing and managing all your unit’s clinical elements and risks
ensuring care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner and reflect care interventions appropriately
acting as the Named Nurse for residents allocated to you, with responsibility for the oversight, review and update of their care profiles
the supervision and management of your unit’s ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal of medication .

About you

You’ll be a natural role model with the ability to manage your unit’s team of Registered Nurses, Nurse Associates and Health Care Assistants.
You’ll also have:
a thorough understanding of best practice in nursing care

an enthusiastic approach to encouraging and motivating people
the ability to work confidently on your own initiative
a good standard of digital skills.
To apply for this role, you must have a first-level nursing registration with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) PIN.
As this is a management role, you should also have post-registration and management or supervisory experience and/or training or qualifications. This is a great opportunity for a Registered Nurse who wants to progress into management.

Getting to Otterburn
Directions to Otterburn
Otterburn is a short drive from the A38 and A435.
From the centre of Birmingham, head towards the A441 and take it past Edgbaston Stadium.
From the south, follow the M40, M42 and A435 to Broad Lane, continue on Broad Lane to Brandwood Park Road and Otterburn is on the right.
There are limited parking spaces in the home’s car park. Street parking is available along Brandwood Park Road.
Public transport to Otterburn
The home is a short walk from several bus stops.
Yarningdale Road bus stop in both directions (stop IDs: nwmgmdag and nwmgmdad), which are accessed by bus 35.
Doversley Road bus stop (stop ID: 43000409802), which is accessed by bus 46.
There's also a train station in the local area.
Bournville - 2.2 miles away (30 minute walk).
Kings Norton - 2.2 miles away (11 minute drive).
