What does a Occupational Therapist do?
Our Occupational Therapists provide a high quality service to support people to maximise their independence and build their everyday living skills.
No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
carrying out assessments
working with people, their loved ones and professionals to develop and deliver person-centred care plans for occupational therapy
focusing interventions on self-care, leisure and productivity to promote independence and meaningful occupation
monitoring, evaluating and recording people’s progress, and updating and adapting their care plan as required
using equipment, such as appliances and aids, safely as part of therapy interventions, and ensuring that colleagues, individuals and families are adequately trained.
What skills and qualifications do I need to work as a Occupational Therapist?
To work as an Occupational Therapist with Exemplar Health Care, you must have a BSc or MSc in occupational therapy and be HCPC registered.
